The purpose of this blog is to keep the Birmingham Chapter updated on the progress with the luncheon.  So far The Club has been reserved and the invitation for potential speaker, Derick Belden, Executive Editor of Southern Living Magazine has been sent.  The auction items will include ten donated necklaces from jewelry maker Jeannie Webster and I am making/donating ten necklaces.  [more]

Hello Judith,
  I'm a new treasurer & was starting to get worried about the responsibilities & duties it entails. It was so nice to get your message first thing this morning and know that we treasurers are not in this alone - we have folks that not only have our backs, but will even teach us what we should be doing and how to improve!  What a wonderful way to start off a Friday! Thank you so much for the kind message and I certainly am looking for the learning opportunities though this eGroup. [more]

This was the first IAAP conference I have attended and enjoyed it very much.
The speakers and educational sessions were great and  I hope to attend again in the future.

While I was in the "Hospitality Room" I noticed there was a flyer posted to the bulleting board

Well, as some of you may know, I had to resign my commission as Treasurer for the California Division. Very heartbreaking for someone who is a bit on the perfectionist side of the coin; but very necessary for the good of the Division and for my health. I hope to continue my journey in IAAP, just a bit slower on the leadership side.

I continue to be active in my chapter as Newsletter Editor and member of the Education & Certification Committee (a pet passion for me) as well as a mentor to newer members. I hope to get back on the leadership track next year--being positive that my health issues will be managable--at least at the Chapter level. [more]
